Braving the snow and enduring the summer heat, a small group of local filmmakers spent the seasons piecing together a 20-minute short.
Freezer Burn will debut at the Vernon Towne Cinema on Monday, Dec. 17 at 5:15 p.m. and 7:45 p.m.
This short film will be screened before the main feature Colette, presented by the Okanagan Screen Arts Society.
Filmmaker, Matt McDowell, along with the local Hollywood Spotlight Film Collective, mentored the crew through a very complex process. Take after take, at various locations throughout Vernon, challenged the filmmakers’ skills and tested the limits of group dynamics.

Freezer Burn explores a lasting family feud, a competitive sporting event and forbidden love. It’s literally making a long story short.
“It’s all downhill until one final race…” the production poster reads.
The film stars local actors Maddie Roemer, Roxy Rollins, Raine Simon, Iza Stark-Heling and Ernst VanGermen.
