Get ready for a night of 90s pop punk and heavy rock and roll, the Throwdown Showdown is going to blow the roof off the Rivershouse on March 15.

Golden Collective has organized the second edition of the Throwdown Showdown, which brings The Straightliners and Alexander Overdrive together once again for back to back music.

“We want to bring rock back to Golden,” said organizer and performer Pablo Euphoria.

Alexander Overdrive plays all your favourite hard-hitting covers, including Metallica, The two local bands are sure to put on a good show and keep everyone moving all night long.

“It’s always awesome to play at the Riverhouse,” Euphoria said. “Music doesn’t happen that often at the Riverhouse.”

The two bands played a similar show together last year, that filled the tavern to capacity. People are encouraged to show up early if they want to ensure they get inside. Last year, The Straightliners played as That Band, bringing all of the sing along pop punk songs people have come to love from their younger days, mixing it in with some well-known skater punk songs and music that’s sure to get everyone moving.

“It ws a raging party, it was really cool,” Euphoria said.

The music gets started at the Riverhouse on Friday night, March 15, beginning at 10 p.m.
