Back by popular demand, David Sinclair and Keith Bennett are playing Joe’s Garage this Friday.

On the urging of mutual fans, Sinclair and Bennett did their f‐out event at Deep Cove Yacht Club.

The response was so amazing that they were eager to continue, and they have since done a series of concerts on the Lower Mainland, Vancouver Island, the Interior, the Sunshine Coast and the Gulf Islands and, again encouraged by fans, have recorded a studio CD and a DVD of one of their concert performances.

Rocking instrumentals, featuring Sinclair’s percussive acoustic guitar playing and Bennett’s soaring chromatic harmonica are mixed with vocal tunes featur‐

ing both Sinclair and Bennett.

The style is a rootsy blend of blues, jazz and folk. Both Sinclair and Bennett have extensive backgrounds as solo artists, sidemen and studio musicians and bring their wide range of  skills to the duo.

As well as chromatic and blues harps, Bennett incorporates some specialty harps and his excellent guitar playing into the show, resulting in an incredible variety of sounds from just two guys.

Their new CD/DVD, Alchemy, is a mix of instrumen‐

tals and vocals, blues, folk and jazz, originals and a

few favourite covers.

The DVD was recorded live at a recent concert in Parksville by Raines Broadcasting Corp., while the audio CD is studio‐recorded.

“David Sinclair and Keith Bennett left the audience wanting more after their brilliant one-hour set at the Harmony Arts Festival. The capacity crowd gave these two extraordinary instrumentalists (David on guitar and Keith on harmonica) a standing ovation and were thrilled by their dynamic and exciting repertoire … their two-part harmonies added that extra special touch to their songs. It was a magical evening!” said Jodi Smith, talent co-ordinator for the Harmony Arts Festival.

The kitchen opens at 6:30 p.m., and the show gets underway after 8 p.m.

Advance tickets should sell quick for this show for only $15. They are available at Bop City Records.

Ensure your seat, come down and eat.
