A concert titled The Singer and the Songwriter takes place on Friday, Sept. 26 at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium (32315 South Fraser Way) in Abbotsford.
The concert features popular Filipino artist Joey Albert and 12-time Grammy nominee Dennis Lambert.
Albert is a pop and jazz singer, musician and songwriter who began her career in 1982 after winning the Dream Girl Filipina contest in the TV program The Party.
She has performed throughout Canada and the U.S.
She has been living in Vancouver since 1994 and has hosted The Joey Albert Show on Shaw Multicultural.
Lambert, an award-winning songwriter and producer, is known for hits such as “One Tin Soldier,” TLC’s “Unpretty” remix, “We Built This City” and “Don’t Pull Your Love.”
He has written more than 600 songs and produced almost 100 full-length albums.
The concert in Abbotsford begins at 7:30 p.m. A portion of ticket sale will go to support the fundraising efforts of St. Clare of Assist Parish and Pinoy Pride.
Special guests are Ray-An Fuentes, Kimwell Del Rosario and the Manilaband.
