Keep your tips up when 13th Floor presents Whistler’s electronic music duo Skiitour at Monashee’s Bar and Grill Friday.
Fronted by a Canuck and a Kiwi (Tim Livingstone and Dave Rollie), SkiiTour has spent the past summer touring all over western Canada, playing at most of the major electronic music festivals including Shambhala, Bass Coast, Astral Harvest, Connect, Tall Tree, Keloha, and Fozzy Fest.
This fall will see them embark on their first European tour with shows in France, Germany, the U.K. and Czechoslovakia.
Producing and preforming together for more than four years, Skiitour are described as savage yetis feeding off of each other during their high energy live shows, which often feature snow machines and loud retro ski gear.
“They blast though genres playing everything funky from bassline house to black-diamond twerk,” said Josh Brazier, with 13th Floor.
The boys have tracks released on multiple labels including Simplified Recordings, Westwood Recordings, and East Van Digital.
While constantly developing their sound, they have enjoyed chart success on Beatport and have had multiple #1 hits on Juno Download and Ghetto Funk. Free Breaks Blog have also shown them love repeatedly, while Mixmag recently gave them a glowing review. They were also recently featured in DJ Mag Canada.
Opening for Skiitour at Monashee’s are Vernon’s Dee Bass and Kelowna’s Arise.
Tickets are $10 in advance at the Downtown Internet Lounge and Monashee’s Bar and Grill. Limited tickets will also be available at the door on the night of the event.
