Those who have the charisma, stage presence and attitude to be a star – but lack the voice – are behind the latest contest at The Abbotsford News.
So You Think You Can Sing? Lip Sync Competition 2011 features videos of over 25 local residents lip syncing their favourite tunes.
They’ve dressed in costumes to represent bands like ABBA and icons such as Michael Jackson to get your support and the chance at a share of $2,000 in prizes.
As of Thursday, March 17, their short videos have been posted online at abbynews.com.
In addition, each week for five weeks, the contestants will be featured in the print version of the News and online, answering quirky questions to reveals their personalities.
The competition is split into three categories: adult, secondary school and middle school.
Three winners, one from each category, will each receive a $500 shopping spree at Sevenoaks Shopping Centre.
One lucky voter will win $500 in prize giveaways.
All you have to do is vote for your least-favourite video in each category.
Voting starts March 17 and will last for five weeks.
Team rankings will be published weekly online and within the Abbotsford News.
