Sooke Monthly Coffeehouse concerts return in Sept.

The Sooke Monthly Coffeehouse concerts are set to return to the stage next month.

Each year, monthly Coffeehouses run from Sept. to June, and are hosted by the Sooke Folk Music Society.

The first show of the season will be held on Sept. 15, and feature banjo player Dan Walsh, who is touring from the U.K.

Walsh’s musical style stems from British, Irish and American folk, with a “dose of funky grooves” intertwined.

He recently released an album, titled Veging on the Perpendicular, which is his fourth solo album. His album tour is not only set to take him across Canada, but also the U.S., U.K., and New Zealand.

The performance in Sooke will take place at the Holy Trinity Anglican Church beginning at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets cost $7 for adults and $2 for children and can be purchased at the door.
