The Errington Hall will host acclaimed Brazilian guitarist Celso Machado this weekend, also known as a percussionist, vocalist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer.
Machado won World Solo Artist of the Year at the Canadian Folk Music Awards in 2008 and has been nominated for four Juno awards among many others.
His music stems from Brazil but combines jazz and folk with influences like classical European, African, and Portuguese, he said. Machado also plays some music by other South American composers.
Celso Machado is playing at the Errington Hall this Saturday, Jan 22 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $20 at Cranky Dog in Parksville, Heaven on Earth in Qualicum Beach, Errington General Store or at the door. Coffee and refreshments will be available.
