Singer/songwriter Greg Sczebel’s Causin’ a Commotion scored second place in the pop category of a worldwide competition.

 

 

Stage play

Shuswap Theatre presents Norm Foster’s romantic comedy Wrong for Each Other to March 5. Shows run at 8 p.m. Tickets are $17 for adults, $10 for students (no HST), and are available at Wearabouts or at the door.

 

 

Soul walk

First United Church hosts a guided labyrinth walk at 7 p.m. March 2 and the first Wednesday of every month until summer. Open to everyone. No charge.

 

 

SAS concert

Salmon Arm Secondary presents March Music Extravaganza at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at the Sullivan Campus gym, featuring the SAS concert jazz band and jazz combo.

 

 

Prayer

Women from several Salmon Arm churches will meet for this year’s World Day of Prayer at Crossroads Free Methodist Church at 121 Shuswap St. SW, Friday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m.

 

 

Soul work

SAGA Public Art Gallery presents “Landscapes of the Soul,” fibre art by Newfoundland artist Hilary Rice opens with a reception at 7 p.m. Friday, March 4, featuring live music and refreshments.

 

 

Cantina live

Sasha Lewis performs at 5 p.m. Friday, March 4 at Cantina Vallarta, where you can also catch Peter Clark and his solo experiment.

 

 

Mission support

King’s Christian School serves a lasagna dinner and dessert auction to help pay for a student mission to Los Angeles during spring break. Dinner tickets are $12.50 and are available at the from school office. Tax-deductible donations are also welcome. For more information, call 250-832-5200.

Kairos

The local Kairos committee presents Canadian Mining Company Practices: How They Threaten Indigenous Rights and the Environment, with Johann Funk, a retired sociology professor from Okanagan College, at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 6, at First United Church.

 

 

Classic films

Okanagan College’s Classics at the Classic presents 2001: A Space Odyssey at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 7 at the Salmar Classic. Tickets at $5 for adults or $3 for students are available at the door.
