Discover the area’s past at the Mall at Piccadilly this week and enjoy entertainment and the annual pie contest at centre court on Saturday.

 

Stage play 

Shuswap Theatre presents Norm Foster’s romantic comedy Wrong for Each Other, Feb. 25 to March 5. Shows run at 8 p.m. nightly, with a 1:30 p.m. matinee on Sunday, Feb 27. No evening show Sunday and Monday night. Two-for-one tickets are available at the door on Tuesday, March 1.  Tickets for all other shows are $17 for adults, $10 for students (no HST), and are available at Wearabouts or at the door. 

 

Coffee house

Shuswap Writer’s Group hosts a coffee house from 7 to 9 p.m.,  Friday, Feb. 25  at the Vida Juice Bar. Guest speaker is local author Lee Rawn. For more information, call Dorothy Rolin  at 250-832-3537. 

 

Opera

The Met:  Live in HD presents  Gluck’s Iphigenie en Tauride, at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 26  at Salmar Classic Theatre. Tickets are $24 at the door, or online at salmartheatre.com.

 

Stage call

Auditions for our Shuswap Theatre’s next production, Heartbreak House, take place at the theatre from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27 and Monday, Feb. 28. Drop in any time during this period. Soul walk

First United Church hosts a guided labyrinth walk at 7 p.m. March 2 and the first Wednesday of every month until summer. Open to everyone. No charge. 

 

SAS concert

Salmon Arm Secondary presents March Music Extravaganza at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 2 at the Sullivan Campus gym, featuring the SAS concert, and jazz band and jazz combo. 

 

Prayer

Women from several Salmon Arm churches will meet for this year’s World Day of Prayer at Crossroads Free Methodist Church at 121 Shuswap St. SW, Friday, March 4 at 1:30 p.m. 

 

Wordsmith

SAGA Public Art Gallery and the Shuswap Association of Writers present Song of the Taxidermist, a visceral new collection by poet and songwriter Aurian Haller, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 7 at the art gallery. Admission is by donation.
