Every year, organized by Hope Mountain Centre Program Director Kelly Pearce, a group of dedicated volunteers come out and help clear the first two kilometres of the HBC trail starting at the Peers Creek trailhead. This year we had 12.5 volunteers, as an enthusiastic toddler joined in the rockin’ fun.
When we got to the trailhead it started to lightly snow, 30 minutes in and it was a full on snowstorm, but the volunteers were amazing. Everyone stuck it out and cleaned up the first couple of kilometres for outdoor enthusiasts to use the trail this spring and summer season.
And of course, the snow cleared and beautiful blue skies made an appearance as soon as we got back down to the trailhead.
