Fraser Valley Comedy is bringing two nights of laughs to Chilliwack this month.
First, on Sept. 21 headliner Steve McGowan will be at Corky’s Pub.
McGowan was an opening act for Pauly Shore at the Vogue Theatre during the Vancouver Comedy Fest. From there he has toured around Canada, performed in Vegas, and took part in the Northwest Comedy Fest working with comedic names such as Dave Foley, Brian Posehn, and Rory Scovel. McGowan has also opened for Steve Hytner, Tony Rock, and Police Academy’s Michael Winslow as well as Chappelle’s Show’s Donell Rawlings. He was also a finalist in the People’s Champ Comedy Competition in 2014 and has been seen on the Slice Network and Global TV.
The night will also feature Ryan Lachance.
Lachance is a pro comedian living with quad-spastic cerebral palsy, who has rocked stages across Canada for two decades, and has performed alongside some of the biggest names in comedy. A hilarious storyteller and seasoned performer, Lachance incorporates notes from his unique perspective as a quadriplegic comic who can’t stand up, who “does” stand-up; along with intensely personal anecdotes from his family life and the challenges he faces, and masterfully spins them into highly entertaining and memorable performances. A regular at the Comedy Mix, Yuk Yuks and Lafflines, Lachance has established himself as a staple of the Vancouver Comedy Scene, and has toured throughout western Canada. Lachance will be making his Vancouver Fringe Festival Debut in this month.
Sept. 21 performances also include special guest: Helena Paul & Aaron Arya, Keller Reeves, Denis Dos Santos, Ray Morrison, Robert Martirosian, Nina Wilder and hosted by Yo Trieu.
