Anticipation is growing as the inaugural Classical Concert Series, held at Char’s Landing, commencing in February 2017 approaches.
“The organizing committee has been very pleased with the enthusiasm shown so far,” said Michael Kozlow, committee chair. “We have sold approximately two-thirds of our target number for subscription sales and must sell another 40 subscriptions to ensure the proposed concert series.”
The first concert will feature the piano duo of Elizabeth and Marcel Bergmann. The duo visited Char’s Landing last month to check the venue and piano and are looking forward to performing on Sunday, Feb.12 at 2:30 p.m.
Following the Bergmanns will be the renowned Borealis String Quartet who have performed to sold-out audiences in major cities around the world. This concert will take place on Sunday, April 9.
The final afternoon performance in this series will be musica intima on May 14. This internationally renowned a capella ensemble is recognized as one of Canada’s unique audience pleasers on tour.
The artists have been tentatively booked and will hold the dates until the first of January. In order to finalize the bookings, a sufficient number of subscriptions must be sold by that date.
Subscriptions are on sale at The Rollin Arts Centre, Char’s Landing, committee members or contact David Cox at 250-723-8362.
