A collective of Sunshine Coast musicians are about to travel up the Shuswap River for the first time.
After playing up and down the coast, The Brothers’ upcoming show in Ashton Creek is their first foray into the North Okanagan, said lead vocalist /guitarist Chris Hergesheimer, adding the band will bring its catchy, genre hopping party music and infectious energy to Lorenzo’s Café Friday.
Performing a West Coast upbeat style of music mashed up with world sounds, The Brothers have their roots playing around the fire in a glass teepee. They have since evolved into a dynamic band that is said to uplift and wow crowds at festivals, clubs and private functions.
Bringing together a host of global musical influences and a not-to-be-missed on-stage performance, The Brothers dole out a high energy mix of roots, reggae, Balkan, hip hop and funk with a Latin rhythmic backdrop.
“Not only is the music diverse, but we are a unique mix of personalities and this diversity adds to the vibe and our love of music and life,” said Hergesheimer.
Band members consist of a PhD candidate, a pre-school teacher, a journeyman carpenter, a marketing director, a music and sound teacher, a full-time farmer, a glazer, and a professional artistic woodworker.
“We are a diverse group of gentlemen out to prove that having fun, loving what you do and stylistic diversity light the fire that feeds our genre hopping party music; music that clearly has what it takes to get the crowds to join the party, sing along and pack the dance floor,” said Hergesheimer.
Friday’s show at Lorenzo’s, 901 Mabel Lake Rd., east of Enderby, starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $10 at the door. Call 250-838-6700 to reserve a table.
