Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty is once again hosting its Cinema Under the Starts outdoor movie nights in Vernon.
Admission is free to the family-friendly films, which will be shown on a huge, inflatable screen.
The first screening, featuring a series of Pixar shorts, will be shown on Canada Day Tuesday at the DND Vernon Army Camp.
The entertainment begins approximately half an hour after sunset (around 9:30 p.m.) before the fireworks display.
The rest of the films will be shown in Polson Park with the lineup including Dumb and Dumber July 11, The Lego Movie July 25 and Despicable Me 2 Aug. 22.
“Hundreds of people came out to enjoy Cinema Under the Stars last year, so we are happy to offer it again,” said Sutton broker Tamara Cinnamon.
“It started as a desire to give back to the community. These free films are something that everyone can enjoy. Watching a movie outdoors on a beautiful summer night with friends and neighbours beside you is really unique and memorable.”
Guests are reminded to arrive early before dusk to find a good spot as the outdoor films are very popular.
Blankets and portable chairs are recommended to make the grass field more comfortable.
Popcorn and refreshments will be available, with all proceeds benefiting various charities.
“Many people help with Sutton Cinema Under the Stars including Big Screen Fun and the entire team at Sutton Group – Lakefront Realty, who tirelessly support the company and their community. The realtors volunteer their time to set up for showings,” said Cinnamon, adding, the staff has also shared its charitable spirit with events such as the Warm and Fuzzy Shelter Collection, Show n’ Shine and others.
