The Fraser Valley Symphony presents the next concert in its 2014-15 season on Sunday, Feb. 1.
“Beethoven & Schubert” takes place at 3 p.m. at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium, 32315 South Fraser Way.
Guest soloist will be Sara Davis Buechner performing Beethoven’s dramatic Piano Concerto in C minor.
Buechner enjoys a vibrant international performance and recording career, and is one of today’s leading keyboard artists.
She has studied piano with some of the most formidable keyboard virtuosos of the 20th century and has performed with major orchestras internationally.
As a soloist, her performances have enjoyed national and international radio broadcast and press.
Buechner has adjudicated international competitions and has presented lectures and master classes worldwide, notably at the Juilliard School in New York and the Royal Academy in London.
Buechner is currently in the music/piano faculty at UBC.
Also on the program will be Ruins of Athens Overture by Beethoven and Symphony No. 6 by Schubert.
Tickets are $18 for adults, $15 for seniors and students, and $5 for kids 12 and under.
