Folks can experience live-dealer card games and a Bryan Adams tribute band this Friday during the grand opening of Elements Casino Chilliwack.
Formerly called Chances, the local casino had a rebranding in September to feature the addition of table games to its gaming complement of 300 slot machines, bingo, and simulcast horse-racing.
At the Nov. 1 opening celebration, people will be able to play card games like blackjack, Texas Hold’em and four card poker, plus rock out to Reckless, a Bryan Adams tribute band all in one night.
Reckless is set to hit the Elements stage at 9:30 p.m. with all of Adams’ most famous songs.
The band plays all the sing-along hits made famous by the North Vancouver-raised rocker and pop star — Diana, Run to You, Cuts Like a Knife, Somebody, Heaven, It’s Only Love, Back to You, Summer of 69 and many more.
As part of the festivities, the Underground Circus will dazzle crowds with an awe-inspiring circus performance starting at 6 p.m., followed by a special ribbon-cutting ceremony at 7 p.m.
Reckless seamlessly pulls off the look, sound, and energy of a real Bryan Adams concert.
Last time the band was in town in August, Reckless rocked the Chilliwack Fair as the main-stage headliner following the Saturday-night rodeo.
“We’re excited to return to Chilliwack, which is a great rock ‘n’ roll town,” said singer-guitarist Sherman Friesen, who takes on the role of Bryan Adams.
Based in Delta, Reckless features Friesen along with guitarist Steve Crane, drummer John Stoltz and bassist Tom Zillich. It is one of Canada’s only tribute bands to Bryan Adams.
The Elements Casino Chilliwack Grand Opening party is on Friday, Nov. 1 at 8180 Young Rd.
Doors open at 9 a.m. and the evening kicks off with prize draws every half hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., concluding with a grand prize draw for a $5,000 Flight Centre travel voucher. Details at elementscasinochilliwack.com
