Georgina Taylor wants some youngsters to help her with her music video.

Georgina Taylor doesn’t need a whole lot from the children she is hoping to recruit for her music  video.

All they have to do is be able to clap their hands.

The Parksville musician has a couple of other requirements however.

“I want about six seven-year-olds,” she said. “I need a good, multicultural mix of children. They’ll just be (clapping) for a few seconds on the video,” she said.

The project, she added, is for a video for one of the songs on the CD she is hoping to put out in the near future — if she can get the help she needs.

“I am going to need roughly $20,000 to $30,000 to finish the CD,” she said. “I need investors to get it finished, and they would get a cut.”

The video, she said, goes with a song called Play with Me, while the CD will be called Bonfire Baby.

Although the Parksville resident is working with a shoestring budget — she works as a maid to put food on the table and she’s using a blanket for the green screen in the video — she’s no newcomer to the music business.

“I played the Vancouver circuit for years and used to perform at the Railway Club and did a lot of backup singing with a lot of bands.”

Her extensive experience in the music business has garnered her some top-flight musicians willing to work with her on the project.

“Preston Hayman, who has played with Sting, Peter Gabriel and Paul McCartney, is taking what I am doing in the home studio and (is the producer, according Taylor in a follow up conversation with The News).

“We also have Tim Cansfield, from the Bee Gees, on guitar and we are planning on having hurdy gurdy player Nigel Eaton from the UK on one of the tracks.”
