A concert on Thursday, Dec. 3 in Chilliwack will raise money for an Abbotsford family of a six-year-old girl who is battling bone cancer.
The concert features Tenore, a tenor group that is a four-time winner of the Gospel Music Association’s (GMA) Covenant Awards.
It takes place at 7:30 p.m. at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre and features special guests the MEI concert choir.
Partial proceeds from every ticket sale go to support Greta Loewen, 6, who was diagnosed a year ago with Ewing’s sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.
She has since had ongoing treatment at BC Children’s Hospital and also travelled to Boston, where she received a type of radiation treatment not available in Canada, and to Toronto.
Fundraisers throughout the year – including a bottle drive, a craft fair, an art auction and a book drive – have helped cover expenses such as medication, travel, meals and living costs, as mom Heather and dad Tim stay by Greta’s side.
The concert is based on Tenore’s 2014 GMA “Seasonal Album of the Year” award – for their album Christmas with You – and will include some holiday favourites.
The group has sung to hundreds of thousands and are known for their powerhouse vocals, rock star charisma and invitations with audiences everywhere to sing along with them.
Tickets for the show are available at the House of James in Abbotsford, at the Chilliwack Cultural Centre box office or online at chilliwackculturalcentre.ca.
