TerraZetto will make magical moments

Musicians seek opportunity to make magical moments with the folks of Vancouver Island

A Nanaimo-based trio that reinvents the best works of artists such as Fats Waller and Santana is performing Friday, June 23 at Roy’s Towne Pub.

TerraZetto’s music hails from Continental, Latin, and Americana roots, and is sung in French, English and Portuguese. It blends original compositions with hand-picked traditional tunes from around the world.

The band is comprised of singer/songwriter Carrie Ingrisano, who plays guitar and electric bass; Kenny “Boom Boom” Brault on electric upright stick-bass, who plays leads on the mandolin and adds texture with Irish bouzouki; and drummer

“Voodoo” Dave McGrath.

The TerraZetto project considers music a two-way process, striving to share eclectic new music and smartly redesigned classics.

“We thrive on the buzz and excitement that comes back to us from our listeners,” the band states. “We are seasoned composers and performers, but we’ve never let go of the thrill that comes from connecting with an audience and lifting it up.”

The trio promises to engage listeners as they take them on a tour of the continents from where their music originates — and back to Canada.

“We create a mellow vibe as an acoustic string trio. A variety of musical styles and delivery range from the most intimate to high-energy performance. We will create a sweet zone and good feelings.”

Show time is 7 p.m. at The Roy, 4000 Sth. Island Hwy.
