Concerts

Feb. 26 — Jack Semple performs at the Dream Café.

Feb. 27 — Laura Smith’s distinct singing voice has been a mainstay of the Canadian music scene for many decades. She is performing at the Dream Cafe.

Feb. 28 — Ari Neufeld brings flourishes of young and old songs, familiar and new, fleshed out in alternating rhythms and melodies to the Cannery. Cover is $10 and includes a beer.

March 3 — Renowned Canadian singer-songwriter Lennie Gallant is at the Dream Cafe.

March 4 -— The Neville Bowman Trio, or NB3, come to the Dream Café. Tickets are $10.

March 5 — Megadeth kicks off the Dystopia World Tour at the SOEC with special guests Suicidal Tendencies, Children of Bodom and Havok. Tickets at www.ValleyFirstTix.com.

March 5 — The Okanagan Symphony Orchestra presents their annual pop concert. This year music from Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables along with guest artists Peter Karrie and the Okanagan’s own Melina Moore.

March 10 — Rooted in Canadian folk tradition, April Verch is a virtuoso fiddle player. Verch is performing at the Osoyoos Community Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $25 and available at www.osoyoosarts.com.

March 12 — Juno-nominated John Wort Hannam performs at the Dream Café.

March 13 — Member of Juno-winning African Guitar Summit project Donné Roberts brings the language of Madagascar to the Dream Café stage.

March 18-19 — Uncle Wiggly’s Hot Shoes Blues Band have opened for the likes of Muddy Waters and Joe Cocker and are coming to the Dream Café. Tickets $20.

March 25 — Texassippi Soul Man Danny Brooks and Lil’ Miss Debi head to the Dream Café. Tickets $20.

April 1 —Harpoonist and the Axe Murderer head to the Dream Café.

Events

Feb. 27 — Help the Ponderosa music and arts festival rise from the ashes at the 557 Artist Block. Open house 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. with live art, live music and snacks. From 7 p.m. until late there will be live music. Entry by donation.

Feb. 27 — Opening Reception for the South Similkameen Arts Society guest artist group show. This show will run to March 24. This active society was formed in 2013 and has over 30 members working in a variety of artistic mediums.

Feb. 4 to 27 — Many Hats Theatre Company presents Baggage by Sam Bobrick. Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets at the Wine Country Visitor Centre or reserve by phone at 250-276-2170.

Feb. 29 — World Famous Harlem Globetrotters at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Celebrating their 90th anniversary the star-studded roster will have fans on the edge of their seats. Visit www.soec.ca for more information.
