Music

May 28 — Retro ski party with SkiiTour at the Mule Nightclub with support from Sinofonik and Funk Haus. Tickets $10 in advance, $20 at the door.

May 28 — Tim Williams and Al Lerman come to the Dream Café. Tickets $25.

May 28 — Canadian contemporary singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Lowell Friesen comes to the 557 Artist Block.

May 28 — Kym Gouchie celebrates her new single In the Hearts of You and Me with a tribute to murdered and missing indigenous women and girls at the En’owkin Centre at 6 p.m. Tickets $25  at the door, $20 in advance at the Groove Yard, Dragon’s Den or En’owkin Centre.

May 28 — The Pernell Reichert Band kicks off the Tinhorn Creek concert series. Tickets $30.

May 29 — Unplugged  open stage at Shades on Main on the Wi-Fi coffee lounge side 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

May 31 — Under the direction of Dave Brunelle, the Penticton Concert Band performs at  7 p.m. at the Penticton United Church, 696 Main St. $15 adults, $5 youth/students. Tickets available at the church 250-492-2684 or through band members.

June 1 — Grammy nominated Lamb of God with special guests Clutch and Corrosion of Conformity at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

June 3 and 4 — Paul Gibbons visits the Barking Parrot for the summer patio music series.

June 4 — Two-time Juno winner Oscar Lopez brings Latin guitar to the Dream Café. Tickets $30.

June 8 — Red Haven comes to Cannery Brewing Co. Cover is $10 at the door and includes a glass of beer. Show starts at 7 p.m.

June 9 — Company B Jazz Band comes to the Dream Café. Tickets $20.

June 9 — Rae Spoon brings new album Armour to the 557 Artist Block with local songwriters  Maiya Robbie and Tavis Weir. Tickets $20 presale, $25 at the door.

June 10 — Eight different musical acts are coming together for a night of classic rock at Barefoot Beach Resort in Penticton to benefit the victims of the Fort McMurray fire.

June 10 and 11 — Joe Richards and Bob Bricker entertain at the Barking Parrot as part of the summer patio music series.

June 17 — Layla Vaugeos and Jason Bonnell stop by the Barking Parrot as part of the summer patio music series.

Events

May 28 — Bend and Brew at Cannery Brewing Co. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Help raise funds for SOWINS yoga outreach. The yoga class is suitable for all levels, 19 years or older. Tickets are $25 and include yoga, a private beer tasting and Cannery coupon.

June 3 and 4 — Artwaves Okanagan at the Okanagan College Penticton campus Four days of Art classes help you create your own works of art, from beginner to advanced, while the two-day trade show boasts over 15 exhibitors who will demonstrate their techniques and display their wares. Cost is $5 per day.

June 4 to 5 — The Summerland Art Club presents a free annual art show and sale. New paintings by over 20 artists and complimentary refreshments at the old library, 9525 Wharton St. from 10 a.m. to 4  p.m.

May 29 — An afternoon on the historic SS Sicamous sampling some of the Okanagan’s best Sauvignon Blanc.  Paired with three chef’s versions of spot prawns. Event takes place from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and tickets are $52.25.

June 15 — ARTWear, a wearable art fundrasier for the Penticton Arts Council takes place at the Cannery.
