April 19 — Aidan Mayes and Mandy Cole at the Bufflehead at 6:30 p.m. No cover, reservations highly recommended.

April 22 — Sharp, sassy and funny The Good Lovelies perform at the Dream Café.

April 24 — Cat Thomson Spring Into Summer Tour with special guest Miles Curtis at the Elite. Cover is $7 at the door.

April 26 and 27 — Sage Valley Voices brings you Moments To Remember at the Oliver United Church. April 26 at 7 p.m. and April 27 at 2:30 p.m.

May 1 — Two-time Juno Award winning singer-songwriter Ruth Moody at the Dream Café.

May 4 — Okanagan Symphony Youth Orchestra celebrates 25 years with a special evening of music at The Shatford Centre. Beethoven’s 5th Symphony, student compositions and a special piece composed by Imant Raminsh. Tickets are $15 for general admission, $10 for seniors/students and $5 for children. Concert takes place at 7 p.m.

June 12 — Kenny Rogers Through the Years tour at the South Okanagan Events Centre.

Aug. 8 — Alice in Chains with opener The Pack A.D. at the SOEC.

Until May 11 — Full gallery exhibition, Styx & Stones at the Penticton Art Gallery. Featuring two key components a juried call for artists and non-juried public program which invites the community to come in and add their own experience to the exhibition.

Until May 4 — Many Hats Theatre Company production of Marc Camoletti’s Boeing Boeing. Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. (no performance April 11) and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22/$19 at the Wine Country Visitor Centre or reserve by phone 250-276-2170.

April 19 — Penticton Community Centre is hosting an Easter party from 10 a.m. to noon suitable for children three to 10 years. Children under seven must be accompanied by an adult. Face painting, balloon animals, craft stations, a visit from the Easter Bunny and more. Tickets are $7 per child and proceeds go to the South Okanagan Children’s charity.

April 19 to May 1 — Diane Way is the guest artist at Front Street Gallery presenting New Digs a collection of watermedia works. Artist in attendance April 19 from 1 to 3 p.m.

April 20 — Easter brunch in the ballroom at the Penticton Lakeside Resort from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Get your photo taken with the Easter Bunny. Prize for best Easter bonnet, Easter egg hunt for kids eight and under. Call 250-493-9772.

April 24 — The Kitchen Stove Film Series presents The Lunchbox at the Landmark 7 Cinema with screenings at 4 and 7 p.m. Pre-purchase tickets are $13 at the Penticton Art Gallery or The Book Shop. Limited tickets may be available at the door for $15.

April 25 to May 17 — Quintessential Okanagan art show at the Leir House features artists Sharon Snow and Lynne Marand. Openening reception is April 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

April 25 and 26 — Pen-Hi Media Arts Entertainment presents Fawlty Towers Revisited at the Shatford Centre for the Arts. This candlelight dinner theatre extravaganza features an array of hot appetizers, buffet and desserts and locally produced spirits. April 26 — Western party with a mechanical bull at the Barking Parrot.  Bull will be fired up at 9:30 p.m. $5 cover.

April 26 — Stand up comedy at the Copper Mug Pub featuring Mike Dambra from New York and hosted by Garrett Clark from Vancouver. Limited seating. Tickets are $10 and show starts at 8:30 p.m.

April 27 — Children’s Showcase presents Robin Hood by Dufflebag Theatre in Summerland at Centre Stage Theatre.

May 1 — The Anonymous People Movie. a documentary speaking on the epidemic of addiction in North America. Playing at the Okanagan College Lecture Theatre at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.). Cost is $10 per person

May 3 — Enjoy an evening of chic glam at the Penticton Lakeside Resort Grand Ballroom for Bacchanalia. Chef Chris Remington’s culinary masterpieces with over 200 wines from 50 different wineries. Event runs from 7 to 10 p.m. Tickets are $75. Black tie and cocktail attire strongly encouraged.

May 3 — First Pitch Fundraising Event at the Best Damn Sports Bar and Grill for the Wave Internation Baseball Academy to send Canadian baseball players to the Latin American Baseball Meet Chicago White Sox alumni Jim Parque. Silent auction, games, prize draws and more. Tickets are $20 and includes beverage, burger and fries.

May 7 — Ladies Night in the Bufflehead sponsored by Urbana Clothing from 5 to 8 p.m.

May 9-11 — Boonstock presents the third annual Okanagan Falls Bike Rally. Competition categories including custom paing, vintage, chopped and more. Poker run Friday and Saturday leaving the Ok Falls Hotel at 1 p.m. Live music from AC/DC tribute band on Saturday at 8 p.m. and other live music daily. All proceeds go to Penticton U21 soccer club

May 10 — SOWINS fimdraising gala featuring live music from The Timebenders, who bring 50 years of hits in one incredible show. Comedian Herb Dixon will be the emcee for the evening at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception, 7 p.m. a sit down dinner followed by music. Dress up in your favourite era from the 50s to the 90s. Early bird tickets are $65 until April 20, $75 after.

May 24 — S.S. Sicamous centennial celebration. Sample fine wines and ales beside Okanagan Lake. Nibble on delicous food and savour the smell of freshly baked bread pulled from the heritage rock oven. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds to the SS Sicamous. They include your first glass of wine, a tasty morsel, entertainment and a tour of the ship.

May 31 — JCI Penticton’s Murder Mystery fundraiser event, Murder at the Races. Come dressed for the derby for a unique, fun experience. Horse races with prizes, silent auction, prizes for best costume and best hat. Ticket includes Chef Darin Paterson of Bogner’s barbecue dinner and music by DJ Shakes. Tickets are $55.

June 4 to 8 —Exploring Encaustic, series of art classes with Bethany Handfield, at the Okanagan School of the Arts at The Shatford Centre.
