July 5 — Aidan & Mandy perform at Gyro Park Bandshell as part of Sunshine Cabaret at 7 p.m.
July 6 — The Penticton Concert Band perform a free concert at the Gyro Park Bandshell in Penticton from 7 to 9 p.m. with a variety of styles including classical, Irish music, rock classics, movie soundtracks and even some disco.
July 6 — African Children’s Choir at the Summerland Baptist Church from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Entry by donation.
July 9 — Strings The Thing faculty recital at the Shatford Centre. Concert at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are $15 for adults and $5 for students.
July 9 — Front Porch, Up On Cripple Creek at the Dream Café. Named one of the best 15 shows of 2012 by the Calgary Herald.
July 10 — Anja jazz trio, led by Keremeos-born saxophonist Jonnie Bridgman, are playing at the Naramata Inn at the Cobblestone Wine Bar at the Naramata Heritage Inn. Reservations recommended. Show starts at 7 p.m.

Until July 26 — Many Hats Theatre Company presents a production of Ray Cooney’s Caught In The Net. Shows are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m. Tickets are $22/$19 at the Wine Country Visitor’s Centre or reserve by phone 250-276-2170.
July 5 — The Penticton Scottish Festival and Highland Games. One day family event featuring bagpiping, dancing, heavy events such as the caber toss, sheep dogs and entertainment all day long including the Celtic band Kinship. Play area for children as well.
July 5 — Penticton Art Gallery’s 37th annual fundraising auction Tastes of the Palette. Featuring live auction, two silent auctions, wines from the Naramata Bench, beer from Cannery Brewing, Penticton chefs and restaurants creating unique hors d’oeurves and door prizes. Tickets are $55 and available at the art gallery.
July 6 — A Midsummer Night’s Jam at the Summerland arena with the Penticton Pistoleras Roller Derby versus Public Frenemy from Vancouver. Doors open at 6:15 p.m. and whistle is at 7 p.m. Tickets are $8 in advance or $10 at the door. Kids 10 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at Good Omens, Tirecraft or SunCity Tattoos.

July 11 — The third annual Party In The Park ant Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls featuring 12 wineries, a barbecue buffet with Chef Instead and live music from UnCorked. Tickets are $50 (plus tax). July 11 to 12 — Oliver Sunshine Festival in Oliver Community Park includes a variety of live music, kids activities, a petting zoo, West Coast Amusements, food vendors, beverage garden and more. Parade July 12 at 10 a.m. in downtown Oliver.
July 12 — The Similkameen BBQ King Competition from 5 to 9 p.m. at the Grist Mill & Gardens in Keremeos. Live music by Ajna, paired wine and food from nine wineries and chefs. VIP ticket is $60 which includes admission and other benefits to support both SOVAS and the art gallery.
July 26 — Liquidity Wines in Okanagan Falls is hosting Clusterfest as fine artists, performers and musicians from around the world participate in a nine-day artist series. Every night a 45 minute performance takes place in Liqouidity’s intimate wine making building from 8 to 9 p.m. Tickets are $25. www.clusterfest.ca.

Aug. 6 to 10 — The 67th annual Penticton Peach Festival is four days of free, family fun including a parade, Aboriginal cultural village, skateboard/bmx competition, sandcastle competition, square dance festival and amusement park rides. Live entertainment in Okanagan Park including Emerson Drive, Trooper, The Stampeders, local acts, tribute artists and more.
