May 10 — Kyle Anderson is hosting a CD release party featuring music from his new album A Family Original in an unplugged setting at Opus Café. Playing his own compositions inspired by family members, Anderson welcomes guest singer Gail Riddall to share three numbers. May 9-11 — Boonstock presents the third annual Okanagan Falls Bike Rally. Competition categories including custom paing, vintage, chopped and more. Poker run Friday and Saturday leaving the Ok Falls Hotel at 1 p.m. Live music from AC/DC tribute band on Saturday at 8 p.m. and other live music daily. All proceeds go to Penticton U21 soccer club
Until May 10 — Osoyoos Art Gallery presents Tried and True and Something New, an art show combining the works of dozens of young Osoyoos and area artists and a six-decade retrospective from five of the town’s most respected painters – Jean Burt, Dorothy Fairburn, Helen Fisher, Annie Molencamp and the late Verna Tomlinson. Opening reception April 25 from noon to 2 p.m. Show runs until May 10, Tuesday to Saturday noon to 4 p.m. at the Osoyoos Art Gallery.
May 10 — SOWINS fundraising gala featuring live music from The Timebenders, who bring 50 years of hits in one incredible show. Comedian Herb Dixon will be the emcee for the evening at the Penticton Lakeside Resort. Event starts at 6:30 p.m. with a champagne reception, 7 p.m. a sit down dinner followed by music. Dress up in your favourite era from the 50s to the 90s. Early bird tickets are $65 until April 20, $75 after.
Until May 11 — Full gallery exhibition, Styx and Stones at the Penticton Art Gallery. Featuring two key components a juried call for artists and non-juried public program which invites the community to come in and add their own experience to the exhibition.

Until May 17 — Quintessential Okanagan art show at the Leir House features artists Sharon Snow and Lynne Marand. Openening reception is April 25 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.
May 19 — Celebrate the SS Sicamous’ 100th birthday at Steam Fest. the launch of a commemorative stamp and outdoor Steam Show, where local residents can register their home-made steam-craft and gadgets in hopes of winning prizes in their category. The collector stamp will be available for purchase. The public is welcome to come down to the SS Sicamous from 10 a.m. to noon, Monday, May 19 to check out the show and have a free tour. The following Saturday, May 24, there will be a Centennial Launch Party at the SS Sicamous with wine and beer tastings, fine foods and live music. May 23 — South Okanagan Actors and Players present Lend Me A Tenor, a madcap comedy by Ken Ludwig. A hapless stage manager substitutes for a famous Italian tenor with hilarious results. Tickets are $18 for adults and $16 for seniors/students. Available at Sundance Video (Oliver), Your Dollar Store (Osoyoos) or at the door. Show is at 8 p.m. at the OSS Theatre in Osoyoos.
May 24 — S.S. Sicamous centennial celebration. Sample fine wines and ales beside Okanagan Lake. Nibble on delicous food and savour the smell of freshly baked bread pulled from the heritage rock oven. Tickets are $25 with all proceeds to the SS Sicamous. They include your first glass of wine, a tasty morsel, entertainment and a tour of the ship.
May 31 — JCI Penticton’s Murder Mystery fundraiser event, Murder at the Races. Come dressed for the derby for a unique, fun experience. Horse races with prizes, silent auction, prizes for best costume and best hat. Ticket includes Chef Darin Paterson of Bogner’s barbecue dinner and music by DJ Shakes. Tickets are $55.
June 4 to 8 —Exploring Encaustic, series of art classes with Bethany Handfield, at the Okanagan School of the Arts at The Shatford Centre.
July 5 — The Penticton Scottish Festival and Highland Games. One day family event featuring bagpiping, dancing, heavy events such as the caber toss, sheep dogs and entertainment all day long including the Celtic band Kinship. Play area for children as well.
July 11 — The third annual Party In The Park ant Kenyon Park in Okanagan Falls featuring 12 wineries, a barbecue buffet with Chef Instead and live music from UnCorked. Tickets are $50 (plus tax).
