Live theatre, concerts, events, art exhibits and more from around the South Okanagan

Aug. 31 — Tiger Moon is a west Canadian folk duo with elements of bluegrass and country music. They are performing at the Dream Café and tickets are $28 for premium seats and $18 for the wings.

Sept. 1 — One of Canada’s finest blues artists, the Steve Kozak Band, is performing at the Dream Café. Tickets are $44 for premium seats and $34 for the wings. Show is at 8 p.m.

Sept. 1 and 2 — The Mamajamas perform on the Barking Parrot patio as part of the Summer Patio Music live music series. Performance is from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Sept. 2 — Catch Tavis Weir performing live at the Cannery Brewing Co. on Ellis Street from 6 to 8 p.m. Free admission.

Sept. 6 — Crystal Shawanda brings her soulful, blues-country sounds to the Dream Café. Tickets are $29 for premium seats and $19 for the wings. Show is at 8 p.m.

Sept. 7 — The Tequila Mockingbird Orchestra are a collection of musicians that weave their stories with guitars, violins, accordions and bass. Tickets for the Dream Café are $37 for premium seats and $27 for the wings.

Sept. 7 and 8 — Bob Bricker and guest performing on the Barking Parrot patio from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Until Sept. 16 — The Penticton Art Gallery exhibition eRacism explores the resurgence of racism around the world.

Until Sept. 30 — The social life of water in the Okanagan Valley exhibit at the Penticton Museum and Archives.

Sept. 4 — The Rotary Club Penticton Sunrise guest speaker will be MP Richard Cannings. Richard Cannings, our Member of Parliament and the NDP Critic for Natural Resources. Everyone is welcome to attend this meeting at the Sandman Hotel – doors open at 6:45 a.m., meeting at 7 a.m. Full breakfast $15, coffee/pastry $6.50.

Sept. 7 to 8 — The Summerland Fall Fair is a family event with children’s activities – petting zoo, arts and crafts, music and dance groups, vendor booths, exhibits and demonstrations celebrating agri-cultural activities.

Sept. 7 to 9 — The 2018 Vancouver Canucks Young Stars Classic at the South Okanagan Events Centre. Watch top prospects from the Canucks and Winnipeg Jets battle on the ice. Sept. 7 to 9 — The Pentastic Jazz Festival features world class bands (including the Dave Bennett Quartet, Bria Skonberg and her New York all stars, Tom Hook and the Terrier Brothers and more) in five venues around the city. For more information visit pentasticjazz.com.

Sept. 8 to 9 — The 18th annual Penticton Dragon Boat Festival at Skaha Lake. Beverage garden, vendors, food and over 2,500 athletes competing.
