Oct. 26 — Family showtime comes to the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver over four Friday nights. Headliner Fred Penner kicks off the series at 6:30 p.m. Visit www.venablestheatre.ca for more information.

Oct. 27 — The House is a-Rockin’ Halloween Dance with the Yard Katz. Orchard House doors open at 7:30 p.m. Prizes for best costumes. Admission $20 plus fee. Tickets at the Grooveyard, 239 Main St. Supports the South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre.

Oct. 27 — A Haunting at the Lakeside takes place at the Barking Parrot. Costume contest starts at 11 p.m. Theme is good versus evil. Must be 19 years or older to attend. $10 cover.

Oct. 27 — Peach Gravy Theatre Cooperative is hosting a scary improv show at the Barley Mill Brew Pub. Tickets are $10 at the pub. Advance reservations recommended.

Oct. 27 — Discovery House Fall Harvest Dinner silent auction and baking raffle at 6:30 p.m. at St. Ann’s Hall (1296 Main St.). Dinner catered by Cheffie from The Edge Bistro, three amazing speakers, silent auction and baking raffle. Tickets are $20 per person, call 250-462-1388 or email prrs@shaw.ca.

Oct. 28 — The Penti-Con Zombie Walk starts at 2 p.m. at the Penticton courthouse on Main Street.

Oct. 28 — Safire Dance, one of the world’s greatest hoop performers, dazzles with acrobatic feats of dexterity and balance. Performance is part of the Children’s Showcase and takes place at 2 p.m. at the Cleland Theatre. Single tickets are $12, or $30 to take in all four shows of the season.

Oct. 29 — BCSPCA fundraiser movie nights at the Cannery Brewing Co. (198 Ellis St.). Early films are family-friendly. Movies by donation. Popcorn and candy included. It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown at 6 p.m. Frankenweekie at 6:30 p.m. and Trick ‘R Treat at 8 p.m.

Oct. 30 — BCSPCA fundraiser movie nights at the Cannery Brewing Co. (198 Ellis St.). Early films are family-friendly. Movies by donation. Popcorn and candy included. Monster House at 6 p.m. Halloween (1978) at 8 p.m.

Oct. 31 — Trunk or treat hosted by the Penticton Church of the Nazarene (523 Jermyn Ave.) from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Hot dog barbecue. All are welcome to this free event that includes decorated cars.

Oct. 31 — Halloween Sacry-oke night at the Barley Mill Brew Pub. Event starts at 8 p.m. and there will be individual and group costume prizes.

Nov. 3 and 4 — Okanagan Makers Christmas Market at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre. Over 150 vendors from all over B.C. with handmade creations and delicious local foods.
