Sundays – Shades on Main has an acoustic open stage every Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in their coffee room. Synchronized by Matt Duffus, there will be a guitar and bass on hand and musician and guest specials.
April 27 — Grammy nominated Danish band Volbeat co headline with Godsmack at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
April 27 — The House is a Rocking’ Blues Jam hosted by the Yard Katz at Orchard House (157 Orchard Ave.). Doors open at 12:30 p.m. Listen and dance to a great showcase of local artists from 1:30 to 5 p.m. Admission is $5. In support of the South Okanagan Similkameen Volunteer Centre.
April 27 — Penticton Elks Club dinner and live music with the band Glory Days. Dinner is at 5:30 p.m. and music starts at 6:30 p.m. Call 250-492-2949 for details and reservations.
April 28 — Cannery Brewing is the place to be as Corey Primus will play Cannnery Brewing from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.
April 29 — Henchman, a punk band from Paris, France comes to Western Canada to blast your eardrums. Local psychedelic/hip hop/rock collective Flaming Globes of Sigmund kicks off the night at Mile Zero Wine Bar (200 Ellis St.). Admission is $10 at the door.
April 29 — Do you like to sing? Do you wish there were some kind of group you could join to do low-pressure singing? Well, look no further than a pop-up choir in the brewhouse at Cannery Brewing, no experience necessary. All you need do is show up at 6:30 p.m., read lyrics and take direction. Hosted by Mia Harris from the Penticton Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts. By donation (suggested $10), all proceeds go to the Academy Bursary Fund.
May 12 — Jessica Singleton covers contemporary pop music at the Dream Café during a Mothers Day brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Call 250-490-9012 or email reservations@thedreamcafe.ca to reserve your table.

Until May 4 — Many Hats Theatre Co. presents The Odd Couple (female version). Tickets are $25 for adults, $22 for students and seniors (GST included) and can be purchased at Eventbrite. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Until May 12 — The Penticton Art Gallery exhibition featuring renowned lighting artist Bentley Meeker.
April 26 to 28 and May 3 to 4 — Lawrence and Holloman is a dark and twisted, yet hilarious, comedy presented by the South Okanagan Actors and Players Theatre company at the Venables Theatre in Oliver.
April 26 and 27 — The OKanagan Falls Legion #227 is hosting a meat draw and 50/50 starting at 5 p.m. Saturday event starts at 4 p.m.
April 28 — Rotary’s annual Pioneers Reception from 2 to 4:30 p.m. at the Seniors Drop-In Centre on South Main Street. Enjoy an afternoon of conversation with complimentary sandwiches and refreshments.
April 28 — Sunday fun day at the Okanagan Falls Legion starts at noon with snooker. Bingo and horse racing at 1 p.m.
May 1 — Join the Penticton Craft Food and Drinks Crawl and sip and savour on local food and drinks in downtown Penticton. This is a fundraiser for children’s cancer initiatives. Tickets are $50 per person. Event is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.
May 9 — Who gets to control the internet? Free documentary explores the relationship between the internet, governments and tech giants. Reserve your tickets prior to May 9, as space is limited. Showing is at 6:30 p.m. at the Penticton Library.
May 10 — Axé Capoeira features traditional Brazilian music and professional capoeiristas and dancers at the height of their skill. Tickets are $12.50. Show is at the Frank Venables Theatre in Oliver at 6:30 p.m.
May 15 and 16 — The Good Bamford Foundation is hosting the Pics & Sticks charity event. Hosted by Good Bamford and Keith Primeau the event gives people the chance to play alongside NHL alumni and country music stars on May 15. On May 16 there is a nine hold charity golf tournament at Sonora Dunes Golf Course in Osoyoos, followed by a concert at the Nk’Mip Desert Cultural Centre.
May 16 — Penticton Art Gallery presents Kitchen Stove Films at Landmark Cinemas. Showing at 4 and 7 p.m. In the film Wild Rose, a country singer is bursting with raw talent living in Glasgow. With a criminal record and as a single mother of two young children the singer is more country song than country starlet. Tickets are $13 in advance or $15 at the door.
May 24 — Ellis on the Rise block party featuring live entertainment, kids activities, food trucks, sidewalk chalk art and a beverage garden. Event takes place on Ellis Street from 5 to 8 p.m.
