CONCERTS
Sundays – Shades on Main has an acoustic open stage every Sunday from 4 to 8 p.m. in their coffee room. Synchronized by Mat Duffus, there will be a guitar and bass on hand and musician and guest specials.
June 14 and 15 — Glory Day’s performs at the Penticton Eagles as part of their Friday night dance bands concert series.
June 14 — Itty Bitty Jam Band will be at Okanagan Falls Legion playing 60s through to the 80s music. Cost is $8 with food starting at 7 p.m. following meat draw and 50/50 which starts at 5 p.m.
June 16 — Cannery Brewing is the place to be as Tristan Telle performs from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.
June 16 — Rebel Luv will be at the Okanagan Falls bandshell for a free concert. Sunday Market will be in the park. Food will be supplied by the Legion Ladies, sponsored by the United Steel Workers Union and the Falls Lions. Concert starts at 5 p.m.
June 18 — One of Canada’s most highly regarded singer/songwriters will perform at the Venables Theatre in Oliver. Murray McLauchlan has released 19 albums and awarded 11 Junos in his 45-year career. Tickets for the 7:30 p.m. show are $47.50.
June 21 — A guitar journey in Spain featuring Bob Park with classical and flamenco guitar at the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. Pre-concert discussion at 7 p.m. Concert at 7:30 p.m. Admission is by donation with funds going to SOWINS.
June 23 — Digger Dan is back at Cannery Brewing for another lively round of music. Set is from 6 to 8 p.m. No cover charge.
June 27 — Open Mike with Steve Prowse at the Penticton Eagles.
EVENTS
June 15 — An Evening of One Act plays at the Naramata Centre’s Columbia Hall Dining Room. Penticton Chamber Theatre’s Travelling One’s present two one act plays — Great Sentimental Valley, Big Reward and Able Cable. Tickets are $15 at the door. Show is from 7 to 9 p.m.
June 16 — Family Fun on Father’s Day at the Skaha Lake ball hockey courts, entry by donation with funds to go to Discovery House. Dunk tank (featuring participant Mayor John Vassilaki), children’s games and activities, prizes for best dressed pirate, road hockey, music and more.
June 16 — Happy Father’s Day at the Okanagan Falls Legion. Sunday Funday with pool at noon and bingo and horse racing at 1 p.m.
June 16 — Family Fun on Father’s Day at Skaha Lake Park from noon to 3 p.m. Pirate games and face painting, dunk tank, road hockey and prizes for best dressed pirate.
June 20 — Okanagan and B.C. inspired contemporary landscapes, contemporary wildlife in acrylic by Anita McComas at the Lloyd Gallery (18 Front St.). The gallery is closed on Sundays.
June 20 — Hello Summer Artwalk with eight gallery openings (Cormier’s Studio, Art Up Studios, Front Street Gallery, The Lloyd Gallery, Mondo Creation, Matheson and Grove Fine Art Gallery, BeeLong Art Studio, Mural – by artist Skylar Punnett, Tumbleweed Gallery and Leir House Cultural Centre) in one night. Free admission. Meet the artists. Event takes place from 5 to 8 p.m.
June 21 — Traditional Powwow at the Shatford Centre (760 Main St.). Hand drum competition, art and craft vendors, food vendors, bouncy castle, face painting, information booths, traditional storytelling and more. Bring your own chair. Grand entry is at 11 a.m. Event goes until 3 p.m.
June 25 — Grandmothers for Africa is hosting a tea, which includes four mini-presentations on teas, xeriscaping, the Ornamental Gardens and a flower arranging demo. Delicious teas and goodies served, prizes and more. Tickets are $15 at Teas and Weaves. Event is from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Penticton United Church.

June 27 — Penticton Art Gallery hosts their annual art auction fundraiser. Theme this year is Speakeasy 2019. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and dinner is at 6:30 p.m. Live auction at 7 p.m. Door prizes, buffet dinner and more. Tickets are $75 or $60 for Penticton Art Gallery and chamber of commerce members.
