Aug. 23 — Rock the Sun free summer concerts in Gyro Park returns with Rumble 100, a premier party band. Concert is from 7 to 9 p.m.
Aug. 23 — Neo-folk singer songwriter Awolk (formerly known as Jesse Thomas) blends rootsy melodies with modern acoustic and electric soundscapes. He is playing at the Dream Café at 8 p.m. No cover.
Aug. 24 — Victor Nesrallah brings his powerful songwriting, compelling voice and mastery of the guitar to the Dream Café. Tickets are $22 for premium seats and $12 for the wings.
Aug. 25 — Cannery Brewing is the place to be on with Zoonis playing from 6 to 8 p.m., no cover.
Aug. 30 — Rock the Sun free summer concerts in Gyro Park returns with Ancient Engines, an experimental alternative rock band. Concert is from 7 to 9 p.m.
Aug. 30 — Echuta, Yoon and The Heatscore play at Mile Zero Wine Bar (200 Ellis St.). Admission is $10 at the door. Music starts at 8 p.m.
Sept. 1 — Tobie Lavoie will play at Cannery Brewing from 6-8 p.m., no cover charge. Grab a friend and enjoy the good things in life.
Sept. 6 to 8 — The Pentastic Hot Jazz & Music Festival. World class bands in five venues around the city including Dave Bennet and the Memphis Speed Kings, Tom Hook and the Terrier Brothers, Gator Nation, Cornet Chop Suey and more. Tickets and more information at www.pentasticjazz.com.
Sept. 8 — Aaron Loewen is back at Cannery Brewing for another night of music. Aaron will entertain from 6-8 p.m., no cover charge.
Sept. 10 — Head to Cannery Brewing for vinyl night from 7-9 p.m. No cover. DJ Spill will be spinning an all vinyl set with a mix of tunes from the 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s, spanning many different genres.
Sept. 11 — Tim and The Glory Boys with the Buffalo Roadshow — multiple Juno, Dove and Covenant award-winning artists, perform at the Venables Theatre in Oliver at 7 p.m. Tickets range from $11.99 to $40.
Sept. 14 — Country Icons: tribute to Alan Jackson, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard at the Cleland Community Theatre. Tickets are $49.
Sept. 14 – Award winning chanteuse Edie Daponte brings Edith Piaf to life for an unforgettable evening of music and entertainment inspired by Paris at the Venables Theatre in Oliver. Tickets are $38.
Sept. 15 — Yakub T. Coyote will be performing at Cannery Brewing from 6-8 p.m., no cover charge.
Sept. 17 — Head to Cannery Brewing for a night of music with Rollin’ Coal. Come listen and enjoy as this local band plays the blues. Music will be from 7-9 p.m. Suggested $10 donation.

Until Aug. 29 — Penticton Arts Council presents Pot Pourri, a clay exhibition by the Penticton Potters’ Guild. Opening night is July 25 at 6 p.m. at the Leir House Cultural Centre (220 Manor Park Ave.). Complimentary food and refreshments served.
Aug. 23 to Sept. 2 — Drinking Habits, a laugh-out-loud two act play by the St. Andrew’s Players. The show is in Summerland at Saxon Winery Aug. 23 to 25. Other show dates include Aug. 26 and 29 in Oliver at Church and State, Aug. 30 and 31 in West Kelowna at Kalala and Sept. 1 and 2 in Penticton at Township 7. All shows begin at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 at the door. Children 12 and under are free.
Aug. 23 and 24 — Penticton Speedway Hornets, Street Stocks and Hit to Pass on Friday. Hornets, Street Stocks and Hit to Pass Eve of Destruction on Saturday. Racing starts at 7 p.m.
Aug. 24 and 25 — Weekend improv workshop at Tempest Theatre & Film led by Vancouver’s Granville Island Theatresports veteran Lauren McGibbon. Workshop is $175 (plus GST) and runs from 1 to 5 p.m. each day.
Aug. 25 – Sip and Support the SPCA at Township 7 on the Naramata Bench from noon to 4 p.m. Meet SPCA animals, pet photos, pet vendors, live music by Summer Whyne and enjoy award winning wines with local cheese and charcuterie. Bring your own leashed pet for a photo. Admission and photo by donation.
Aug. 25 — Art in the Gardens 2019, presented by the Summerland Ornamental Gardens, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Artists may display and/or sell their work. RSVP by July 15 to events.summerlandgardens@gmail.com if you would like your art displayed.
Aug. 29 — The final summertime evening market from 4 to 8 p.m. on Front Street and Backstreet Boulevard from 2:30 to 9 p.m.
Aug. 30 — Mardi Gras on Martin Street as an end of summer wrap up party. Beverage garden, food and live music.
Aug. 31 — Acting Foundation with Edward Foy at the Tempest Theatre & Film (125 Eckhardt Ave. E.). Two-day scene study workshop open to novice actors who want to brush up their skills. Workshop is $175 (plus GST) and runs 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
Sept. 5 to 28 — Many Hats Theatre Co. presents Rapture, Blister, Burn. Opening night reception with wine and snacks and second night reception on Sept. 6 featuring local craft beer. Shows will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. Sunday matinees at 2 p.m.
Sept. 10 — The South Okanagan Similkameen Brain Injury Society hosts The Human Condition Comedy Tour at Bar One. Tour features three comedians (Shawn Gramiak, Scott Porteous and Nadine Hunt). Event starts at 8 p.m. Tickets are $25.
Sept. 25 — PDCAC is holding a call for artists for the upcoming fall show Magic & Mystery. Drop off is on Sept. 25 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Opening night and reception is Sept. 27 from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 31 is the second opening from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.
Sept. 28 — The Comic Strippers, a male stripper parody and improv comedy show, returns to Penticton at the Cleland Community Theatre. Tickets are $39 (plus applicable service fees) and can be purchased at the community centre or call 1-800-838-3006.
