The Old School House Arts Centre (TOSH) in Qualicum Beach has once again opened its doors to the public for general viewing.
In a release issued on Monday, June 7, centre officials indicated the doors will be open Tuesday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
COVID safety protocols are still in place and guests will be asked to wear facemasks, use the provided hand sanitizer, observe social distancing and follow the wayfinding arrows. A front desk volunteer will track the number of people in the building at all times with a limit of 50 (including resident artists in studio, staff and volunteers). Complete details on TOSH’s COVID safety plan can be found on their website.

TOSH closed its doors in November 2020 as a precautionary measure for volunteer and staff members, although have not had COVID exposures to date. If patrons are not able to make an in-person visit, the arts centre has exhibits online for personal viewings.
Currently on exhibit until June 26 are works by both Hannes Grosse and Iris Steigemann, in Moments of Silence. Grosse has 60 pieces, a combination of acrylic on paper and cotton, depicting various shades and tones of colour. Steigemann has 20 pieces, a combination of watercolour and pen on paper, depicting icebergs, whales and cottages.
