The Reach hosts free activities for Family Day long weekend

Events on Sunday, Feb. 16 in Abbotsford include tours and diorama presentation

The Reach Gallery Museum is holding some free activities for families on Sunday, Feb. 16 in celebration of the Family Day long weekend.

A mini guided tour of the current exhibitions takes place from noon to 5 p.m.

These exhibits include Glimmers of the Radiant Real – a touring exhibition with its only B.C. stop at The Reach – and artist Trevor Van den Eijnden’s “a soul is not made of atoms.”

A performance called “Fragile” by macromatter takes place from 2:30 to 3:30. This presentation has been seen around the world, and tells the dramatic story of three generations of family told through dioramas projected onto the big screen in real time.

In conjunction with the show, classes to make paper productions take place from 1 to 2:30 p.m. and 3:30 to 5 p.m. on Sunday.

The sessions are on a first-come, first-served basis with each class capped at 30 participants. Latecomers will only be accommodated up to 10 minutes past class start time.
