V-Day Sooke will present a benefit reading of The Vagina Monologues at Edward Milne Community Theatre on Feb. 24.
The Vagina Monologues is an award-winning play written by Eve Ensler, and will be performed and produced by V-Day Sooke volunteers.
The play explores topics such as sexual experiences and body image through the eyes of women of various ages, races, and sexuality, and is one of the reasons why V-Day groups formed.
V-Day Sooke is a local activist group within a worldwide effort that helps protect women and girls against violence by raising awareness, fundraising, and campaigning.

Ninety per cent of the show’s proceeds go towards the Sooke Transition House, to help stop violence against women and girls. The other 10 per cent will go towards global organizations fighting for the same cause.
