Young ‘cat’ dancers from the Hua Xia Multiculture Society (above) performed during a Chinese lunar New Year celebration at Surrey City Hall on Feb. 21.
The performers opened for a feature presentation by the Beijing Shadow Play Art Troupe.
The troupe, on tour locally from their home in China, put on two three-episode shadow play performances, including one about a crane and a tortoise (at left).
This year is considered the Year of the Goat or Sheep in the Chinese zodiac.
