Emerald Pig Theatrical Society’s A Particular Class Of Women won a pair of awards at Theatre B.C.’s Mainstage provincial drama festival in Kamloops on Saturday.

The cast took the best ensemble award and Charlene Rowley won for her costumes.

This was the first time Emerald Pig had represented the Fraser Valley Zone at Mainstage, earning the privilege by taking home top honours in the Fraser Valley Zone Festival in May.

At Mainstage, Emerald Pig competed against nine other winning productions from around the province.

“We are thrilled,” said John Stuart, the show’s director. “We went to Mainstage with a goal of giving a great show, and we did that. We received many accolades from our audience, other Mainstage participants, and Jeff Hyslop, our adjudicator. To also win these awards puts the icing on the cake.”

Emerald Pig Theatrical Society is in its 10th anniversary season and is based out of Maple Ridge, but the cast and crew of A Particular Class Of Women came from all over the Lower Mainland.
