Competition has been enthusiastic as local performers have been given the opportunity to shine over the past eight weeks at Sturgis North Pub.
“Got Talent was a lot of fun and we’ve seen some fantastic singers and musicians the last eight weeks,” says event organizer Mark Anderson, offering his thanks to the more than 30 entrants, hosts Annette and Calvin Cosens and pub owner Roger St. Cyr. “A big thanks to all the judges who took time out of their evening to participate, including the Observer’s own Jennifer (Bertram) as a special guest judge and Diane Gloux and Kim Puddifant.”
Eight entrants made it through the Dec. 8 semifinals and will perform in the finals being held at the pub at 9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.
A total of $1,000 in cash and prizes will have been given out throughout the contest, including cash proceeds being donated to the Salmon Arm Salvation, says Anderson. There will be a box for food donations at tomorrow night’s contest finale.
