Penticton residents can experience a bit of Punjabi culture at the third annual Mela for Cancer at Gyro Park on Aug. 18.
Organized by youth with a non-profit organization, the event is a fundraiser to benefit the B.C. Cancer Foundation. According to the event website, the mela has raised over $30,000 in the first two years of the event.

Running from noon to 5 p.m., residents can take in performances and taste cuisine from Punjabi culture. Event organizers will be accepting donations both large or small, with a goal of $5,000.
