Time to dust off dancing shoes

Drop-in lessons for dancing starts at Arts Centre Theatre

Join Robyn Picard for a drop-in lesson and dance session at the ACT next week.

On Friday, July 25, Picard will teach beginner’s cha-cha, followed by an “all-styles” dance night.

Picard, as well as her older siblings, were born into and raised by a dancing family.

She started taking jazz, tap, acrobatics, ballet and modern stage at the age of four and went on to learn the various styles of partner dancing that would groom her to follow in her family’s footsteps.

Over the past 18 years, she has taught dance around the Lower Mainland.

Her goal is to continue to facilitate the growing interest in partner dancing for young and old alike, and to introduce dance into more and more peoples lives as a great form of fitness and fun.

• Dances lessons run from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays and the practice dance ends at 10 p.m. Tickets are $13 for a lesson and the dance or $10 for the dance only.  The next session on Aug. 8 will focus on cross-step waltz. On Aug. 22, Picard will teach the tango.
