The 2556 RCACC Kitimat Cadet Corps put on quite a show at the Annual Ceremonial Review held on June 11 at Kildala Elementary.
The reviewing party consisted of Maj. Bissell (Reviewing Officer), Lt (N) Gueguen (2556 RCACC CO), Chief Warrant Officer Sluyter (RSM), Comrade Leslie Stoneman (Legion Br. 250 vice president), and Mr.Sluyter (sponsor committee representative).
The Kitimat Core impressed the top brass with their efforts and were complimented in particular by the officers on how well-spoken they were.
Several amazing awards were handed out and family and friends were treated to a spectacular drill by the rifle drill team who practice during lunch recess at school under the watchful eye of their drill team commander, Warrant Officer Gingera.
Guests were able to browse various stations after the ceremony where cadets explained and demonstrated the various aspects of the programme.

One of the highlights of being in cadets is being able to attend various training camps over spring break and summer.
These camps are at no cost to the cadet and often require flights to Vancouver and Kelowna. Some of the cadets who have been selected for camps this summer are:
Master Corporal Durand: two-week expedition camp in Vernon
Warrant Officer Young: six-week air rifle marksmanship instructor course in Vernon
Chief Warrant Officer Sluyter: staff for Vernon Cadet Training Centre
Master Corporal McIsaac: Summer camp – Connaught CTC – Fullbore Phase One
Corporal Hall: two-week general training camp in Vernon
Although the Kitimat Cadet core is rather small, they make up for it in spirit.
They have loads of fun together, learning new skills and would love for children aged 12 years and older to join them in the Spring.
The cadets meet every Tuesday from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Kildala Elementary gym.
