An annual celebration at the Rocking Horse Pub will have a traditional Celtic band, scottish menu, dancing and more.
It’s Robbie Burns Night at the pub on Friday, Jan. 24 and a $10 ticket will get everyone a sample of a Scottish delicacy.
“Every customer will get some Haggis,” said owner Louise Willoughby, adding with a laugh: “It’s up to them if they want to eat it.”
Haggis is a traditional Scottish dish, considered the national dish of the country because of Burns’ poem Ode to a Haggis in 1787. The celebration at the Rocking Horse will include the traditional reading of Ode to a Haggis By Robert Burns and a bagpiper, followed by popular local group Celtic Chaos.
“They’re awesome,” said Willoughby of the dance band which plays energetic reels from Scotland among other Celtic tunes.
