Beautiful music in the tranquil setting of the St. Andrews United Church warmed up the night at the 11th Annual TubaJohn Christmas Concert with Friends.
The evening saw performances by several choirs and many donations of food items and money for the Salvation Army brought in by concert goers.
First up to perform five selections was the Cariboo Men’s Choir, directed by Carl Johnson with pianist Sherry Johnson.
Quintet Plus, directed by Michele Erlandson and Sharon Hoffman, followed next with five performances including favourites such as Here Comes Santa Claus and Can You Feel the Love Tonight.
Next, Synergy took to the stage for two songs before Christmas Brass, directed by Rocco Catalano, performed several Christmas tunes.
A combined Christmas sing-a-long rounded out the evening.
The TubaJohn Christmas Concert is held annually in memory of John Sykes, a longtime volunteer and community supporter of music.
Funds raised from the evening go to the Salvation Army food bank and TubaJohn’s Memorial Cariboo Festival, instrumental scholarships.
Admission was by donation.
