Envision Twilight Concert Series presents the Abbotsford Concert Band on June 17 at Fraser River Heritage Park in Mission.
The band has been a part of the Fraser Valley music community for 50 years performing at festivals, concerts and parades. They perform a wide range of music, everything from marches and dance music to symphonic festival pieces.
They can be regularly seen at concerts in Jubilee Park and participate in over a dozen events annually.
Members have also travelled as musical ambassadors, playing in parades and concerts in B.C., Alberta and Washington.
The Art in the Park program will feature glass blown beadwork and jewelry from Ania Kyte, Gina Esche’s natural way to body wellness and beaded jewelry from Betty Sandmark.
On June 22, Heritage Park Secondary School jazz band will take over the stage at Fraser River Heritage Park from 7-8 p.m.
Heritage Park’s music program has a history of success at provincial, national and international events.
The jazz band will be playing a wide variety of big band arrangements, ranging from 1950s-era swing to current alternative rock. Their show will be accompanied by beaded jewelry artist Betty
The Art in the Park program features beaded jewelry artist Betty Sandmark along with a craft workshop with Salt Lane Studio.
The Log Cabin Café and Blackberry Kitchen will be open. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.
