Two local dancers win bursaries

Two dancers have been chosen from all students on Vancouver Island and Prince Edward Island to receive advanced level bursaries

Dayna Amelia and Kirsty Mascia of from Kathy Mascia School of Dance have been chosen from all the students examined on Vancouver Island and Prince Edward Island to receive an advanced level bursary.

The pair was selected by two examiners from South Africa, Brigitte Reeves and Margie Wells.

Amelia won the Advanced Jazz Bursary and Mascia the Advanced Tap Bursary.

Both these students are also trained in ballet and have completed nine exams between them. On top of all their exam work they have been working hard with the rest of the students from Kathy Mascia School of Dance for their end of the year dance recital “Stars of Tomorrow” which will be held at the Tidemark Theatre on June 16, at 2 p.m. and 7p.m.
