UFV Theatre Department to be featured at Harrison Festival of the Arts

Two one-act plays will be performed on Tuesday evening at Harrison Memorial Hall starting at 8:30 p.m.

Two one-act plays from the UFV Theatre Department’s 2011 Directors’ Theatre Festival will be featured at the Harrison Festival of the Arts on Tuesday evening.

The Art of Self-Defense by Trisha Johnson and directed By Sandy Tait is one of them.

Five women who are very different in personality, background and just about every other way, meet in a Tai Chi class and become close friends.

But even the strength of their friendship can’t prevent one of them from a failure of courage at the crucial moment.

The Dagger’s Before Me, written and directed by Darcy Knopp, will also be showcased.

Birnham Wood is on the march, threatening more than the castle of Dunsinaine.

Macbeth opens in hours and the cast and crew are neck-deep in backstage strife. Ambition, jealousy and malice – like daggers – point the way to disaster.

Both shows will be performed in the Harrison Memorial Hall starting at 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 12.
