Parksville ukulele instructor Anna Acevedo Lyman will have a very special guest this Friday when she presents Kimo Hussey at Parksvillle Beach.
Hussey is a ukulele master teacher and performer from Hawaii who has been playing and performing with this small but dynamic instrument since high school.
That long experience has shown him that there is no substitute for organized, effective practice. He has recorded a ukulele CD called Eminent Ukulele and shared publication of a Hawaiian songbook, He Mele Aloha. He also shared inception of a non-profit organization, the Pacific Music Foundation. The free lesson is at 6 p.m. and some ukuleles will be provided. Wear your Hawaiian shirt and sandals for a chance to win a lei.
