Kids can explore their creative side with a special improvisational theatre camp this August.
Hosted by the Langley Arts Council and Funscripted at Yorkson Creek Middle School, the camp uses a variety of theatre games to encourage kids to challenge themselves to think quickly, be silly and develop the courage to stand in front of a group.
Participants will also create their own plays by writing scripts, creating sets and ultimately performing them.
The collaborative and supportive environment of the camp eases the participants into the performance mode while aiding in the development of public speaking skills, story telling ability, character building and improvisational skills. The games are fun and keep kids interested.
Open to children ages six to 12, the camp runs Aug. 15-19 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
