The Usual Suspects are back at the Royal Coachman this Sunday.
One instantly recognizes their unique mixed sounds of Funky-Latin-Jazz. Together, they play a variety of self-arranged standards plus originals that embrace the modern Jazz era.
The Usual Suspects are Paoul Gagnon on keyboard, Tony Morrison with sax and flute, Grahame Edwards on bass (upright and electric) and on percussion Tom Tinsley.
Gagnon is originally from Quebec City, where he studied both classical and jazz music at the Université Laval. Previous collaborations include Jazztet, Deja Blue, and Streetlife.
Talented multi-instrumentalist Edwards plays acoustic and electric bass, percussion and trumpet.
Among the Usual Suspects, Morrison is known to blow various saxophones from tiny to large, or toot flute.
Joining the combo on drums is Tinsley. Tinsley has appeared in a variety of groups performing genres of music such as jazz, rock, latin, pop, big band, musical theatre, and modern dance. Come to the Royal Coachman Pub for a casual afternoon of live music from 1-4 p.m. this Sunday. Admission is by donation and there will be a varied lunch menu of homestyle meals as well as soft or alcoholic beverages.
