With a voice that is soulful, authentic and open, Siobhan Walsh emotes a vulnerability and imperfection that is wise beyond her years.
Her heartfelt delivery captivates her audience every time and leaves them wanting more. Walsh will be returning to the Comox Valley on Nov. 25 after living and performing in Vancouver for the past three years.
Walsh grew up in Victoria and then moved to the Comox Valley at the age of 16. In 2006, she attended Malaspina College (now VIU) enrolling in the Jazz Diploma Program.
Fresh off the heels of jazz school, she returned to the Valley in 2007 and promptly won the Comox Valley Idol with her rendition of the jazz standard Teach Me Tonight. Shortly after, she joined the group Flat Nine as lead vocalist and began performing regularly at the music venue The Downtown Social Club.
In 2014, Walsh moved to Vancouver to further pursue her career in music. Currently, Siobhan performs as the lead vocalist in two of her own projects, the Siobhan Walsh Group and A Tribute to Aretha Franklin, as well as singing co-lead vocals in the dance band The Rain City 6.
Walsh is also currently working with a producer/writer in Los Angeles and is planning on releasing her first pop/soul single in early 2018.
On Nov. 25, prepare to be taken on a musical journey as the Siobhan Walsh Trio weaves the stylings of soul, blues, jazz and gospel into one with a familiar, yet refreshing take on music from Norah Jones to David Bowie to Aretha Franklin and many more!
Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door; advance tickets can be purchased at: Bop City Records, Church Street Bakery and Rider’s Pizza. The show is set for 8 p.m. at Studio Live – 2679 Beaufort Ave at First Ave, Cumberland.
