SIDNEY — The Palm Court Light Orchestra presents Lambroula Pappas, one of Vancouver’s finest sopranos, in this year’s Valentine’s Day concert at Sidney’s Charlie White Theatre on Friday (Feb. 13).
Pappas will perform a selection of opera arias from Tosca, Madame Butterfly and La Boheme, as well as Gounod’s Ave Maria and Sigmund Romberg’s Desert Song.
The orchestra, in its 28th season this year, will present a variety of musical treats, including the always entertaining novelty, The Whistling Bobby. Audiences will have to wait to see if the orchestra actually whistles.
The show starts at 2:30 p.m. at the Mary Winspear Centre’s Charlie White Theatre, 2243 Beacon Ave. Tickets begin at $29, and are available at marywinspear.ca or by calling the box office at 250-656-0275.
