Armstrong’s Memorial Park is about to be filled with families and friends.

Downtown LIVE!! presents The John Henry Effect Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m.

The John Henry Effect is an acoustic duo based in Vernon. John Noren and Henry Piovesan are two dynamic performers with amazing voices and enticing stage presence.

The duo will play a mix of old and new favourites spanning many  genres with keyboard, guitar, harmonica, tight vocal harmonies and amazing bass and drum backing tracks.

“It’s a very full sound and  very danceable,” says Downtown LIVE!! organizers, with the Armstrong-Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce.

Well maintained by the Armstrong Spallumcheen Parks and Recreation, Memorial Park is one of Armstrong’s most scenic spots with a swimming pool, children’s water park, new playground equipment and lots of shade for people to come and relax all summer long.

Bring a blanket, chairs, umbrellas, sunscreen –– even your dinner –– and relax, enjoy the fresh air and slow down, for at least a while.

Downtown LIVE!! is a free community event, sponsored by the Armstrong Spallumcheen Chamber of Commerce with the support of the City of Armstrong, Thompson Okanagan Tourism and local media.
